The entire country of Mexico did an earthquake drill this past Tuesday. A fun fact you may not know about me is that I am all about disaster prep! So naturally I saw this as the perfect opportunity for us to practice evacuating with Bolty. Bolt has never experienced a real earthquake and my guess is that he will be scared and refuse to move. So I pulled out his emergency hammock that I bought for him awhile back and Bridget and I practiced loading him into it and carrying him out of the condo.
To our surprise he did so good. He didn't love being put into the hammock but also didn't fight it much. Then once in his hammock and airborne he was very chill and just along for the ride. I know it won't be that smooth if we have to do it in an actual earthquake, but we plan to start practicing with it more so he will at least be familiar with it and its purpose.
I'm not excited about the fact that earthquakes are a thing out here. But being as prepared as possible really is the best thing we can do for ourselves according to me and probably also according to other very smart people lol. - Nolan
